The country’s most experienced microwave engineering team

WS Consulting Ltd. (predecessor of WS Engineering Ltd.) has been a key player in the Hungarian telecommunications market since its founding in 2001. Our company provides engineering services specialized in the planning, development and optimization of wireless radio and transmission networks.

Our founders established the company building on experience gained at the former MATÁV PKI Telecommunications Development Institute’s Radio Communication Network Planning Department. Today we have become one of Hungary’s leading independent companies in microwave technology engineering solutions. We were the first in the country to introduce a proprietary 5×5 meter resolution digital raster geodetic database covering Budapest and 21 other Hungarian cities. With our proprietary combinatorial algorithm we offered an efficient solution for frequency allocation in point-to-multipoint radio systems, contributing to the optimization of wireless network performance and spectrum utilization. We have also pioneered developments in artificial intelligence: we developed GAIA, a unique AI‑based microwave network optimization system. In addition, our AI‑based orthophoto processing and monocular height estimation model is currently being introduced, enabling the production of GIS planning databases with resolution finer than 1 meter.

For our clients we provide custom, high‑quality planning and engineering processes in the design, development, optimization and operational support of telecommunication transmission networks, as well as in closely related technical fields.

Areas of expertise

Microwave network planning and licensing

Comprehensive planning and licensing of point‑to‑point (PP) microwave transmission networks in accordance with the regulations of the National Media and Infocommunications Authority (NMHH) and relevant international recommendations.

Satellite earth station planning and licensing

Specialized design and licensing of satellite earth stations, along with technical coordination of the ground segment.

Network optimization

Design of optimal network topology based on objective metrics, determination of end points reachable via fibre, and planning for efficient frequency utilization. Auditing existing networks, supporting future‑proof network development decisions with comprehensive technical plans, and identifying quantified OPEX–CAPEX cost‑optimization opportunities.

Network management

Full‑scope network management: high‑ and low‑level design of network architecture, technical support for development and customer requirements, site and route surveys, inventory and optimization of network resources, licensing, and preparation of technical reports and management dashboards.

Site survey

Conventional and drone‑based on‑site surveys: site identification and inspection, assessment of existing equipment, determination of tower heights, route surveys, panoramic photography, photogrammetry‑based 3D site modelling, and thermal imaging for precise fault identification.

Geoinformatics database development

Development of geoinformatics databases according to custom requirements, drone surveys, processing of aerial and orthophotos, and AI‑based monocular image height estimation.

Data science and artificial intelligence‑based services

Processing of network, geoinformatics and measurement data; AI‑based analysis and predictive modelling for network performance optimization, traffic and capacity demand forecasting, failure prevention, and support for planning and operational decisions.
